The Great Battery Test!
Grade 3T and the other level 3 grades are testing different brands of batteries to see which batteries store the most amount of energy and will last the longest! We are conducting a ‘fair test’ which means that we are looking at one different thing and all other conditions will remain the same. Our variable (the characteristic which is different) is the brand of battery and our controls (all other characteristics involved in the test) are the size and number of batteries ( 2 DD), the model/brand of torch and the length of time torches are turned on.
Each day we will turn the torches on (only turning them off for specialist classes, recess, lunch and after school). We will keep a record of how long the torches are turned for each day in order to measure how long it will take until each brand of battery runs completely flat!
The challenge is to guess which brand will run for the longest length of time? What do you think? Please leave a comment guessing which brand you think will last the test of time!

Hi everyone and welcome to our blog! It has been a long time coming, so hopefully we will be able to add posts regularly this term for a bit of fun and to give you an idea at home of what we are up to at school! First up we are conducting a scientific test as part of our topic this term on electricity, see the Great Battery Test Post for more on that!
Later this term we have Italian Day and we are off to Scienceworks for some more shocks and electric fun!
We hope to add some examples of our work and the activities we take part in as well. So stay tuned and check in with us each week!
